WE LOVE HYDROPOWER!!!!!
hydropower Want some energy.....................go fish. We here love our water and what it does for us. It is used for everything from watering plants, swimming, and produces electricity. Most would think that something this good would have some negative aspects, but this is far from true. Hydropower is in our opinion the best alternative energy source in the world. Developing energy through this process is very cost efficient and produces many jobs that are crucial to the development of our struggling economy. For example, Corps Hydropower has built over 75 hydropower plants in response to the rising fuel prices. Corps Hydropower keeps electricity at a low cost for all consumers, and the construction of the plants produce thousands of jobs and more tax dollars that boost the economy.

Also hydropower is used to power smaller, developing countries. This shows cooperation between the governments of many countries. The use of hydropower reduces our independence on foreign oil reserves. Many of the other political aspects are tied in with the economy and the environment. Many environmentalists are not entirely crazy about Hydropower, but many hold it at a higher standard than the use of fossil fuels.

Other than benefiting economies and governments, Hydropower is much better for the environment in comparison to fossil fuels. It does not release any wastes that add to the greenhouse effect or pollute the air or any environment for that matter. For instance, the burning of fossil fuels contribute to over 82% of the worlds greenhouse gases. On the other hand, Hydropower adds an amazing 0% of the greenhouse gases to our atmosphere.
